Green Initiative

HospiceCare undertook a goal to become environmentally sustainable. As a green organization, we wanted to minimize our impact on the environment. We did this by reducing our use of energy and decreasing our waste output.

Purpose:

To provide guidelines for addressing the measures in place to reduce the carbon footprint and enhance the sustainability of HospiceCare’s work environment.

Our Goals:

Promote environmentally sustainable practices.
Provide resources on environmentally sustainable practices to staff.
Implement environmentally sustainable practices.

How We’ve Gone Green:

Recycling toner cartridges from copiers
Installing stationary soap dispensers in restrooms
Putting motion lights in restrooms
Dishes and glassware for meeting instead of paper products
Disposable plates, cups, and utensils are compostable
Copier paper that is 30% post consumer recycled
No more bottled water at meetings
Composting of paper towels waste in restrooms (in Trailridge and Boulder offices)
Composting of food scraps in kitchens (at Trailridge office)
Using Earth First paper products
Using Earth friendly cleaning products
Copiers print double-sided by default
Copiers print black and white by default
