
Appointed in 2001, Darla previously served as Executive Director of hospices in Washington, DC and Greeley, Colorado. She is recognized as a national leader in the hospice industry and has served on the Board of Directors of the National Hospice and Palliative Care Organization, as President of the Board of Directors of the Colorado Center for Hospice and Palliative Care, and as President of Boulder Rotary. Darla received the Boulder Chamber of Commerce Women Who Light the Community Award in 2005 and the Daily Camera Pacesetter Award for contributions in science/medicine/and health in 2010.
Jackie directs recruitment and retention programs, staff orientation and training, benefit administration, policy and procedure design and implementation, volunteer coordination and the agency’s safety initiatives. Jackie joined HospiceCare in 1997 after serving as Human Resource Coordinator at a local hospital and a skilled nursing facility. She is a member of the Boulder Area Human Resource Association and is a certified Senior Professional in Human Resources.
A graduate of McGill School of Medicine in Montreal and the University of New Mexico Health Sciences Center, Dr. Massone is board certified in Internal Medicine. He’s worked extensively in bioethics and developed an ethics education program for nurses, house staff, and attending physicians at the University of New Mexico, earning a fellowship certificate in Graduate Medical Education for Ethics following residency. Prior to joining HospiceCare’s staff in 2011, John served as a hospitalist for over a decade in San Diego, California and Durango, Colorado and chaired clinical quality and patient safety committees in both hospitals. In his current role, Dr. Massone oversees medical services at HospiceCare and works closely with community physicians to ensure high quality patient care.
Well-known and highly respected in our service area, Pat has worked for HospiceCare since 1991 as a clinical manager and leader. In her current role, she oversees clinical program services, development quality and compliance. Pat also serves as an instructor and mentor in leadership training for the National Hospice and Palliative Care Organization and on the NHPCO Standards and Quality Committee. She is certified in hospice and palliative care nursing, administration, and received the Colorado Hospice Organization’s Spirit of Hospice Award in 2005.
Sheila oversees community education, admissions, and business development for HospiceCare. With 7 years of experience in senior residential programs prior to joining HospiceCare’s staff in 2005, Sheila’s expertise in strategic initiatives, marketing, sales, and healthcare administration provides the foundation of her department’s success.
While completing his third term on HospiceCare's Board of Directors, Scott applied to serve as CFO and successfully transitioned into the role in 2012. A seasoned financial executive with over 20 years of leadership experience in the publishing and broadcasting industries, he is well equipped to oversee the finance, facilities, information technology, and administrative functions of the agency.
Mary joined HospiceCare’s staff in 2006 with over 30 years of professional communications/ marketing experience and numerous awards for her work in the field. Mary brings innovation and excellence to Fund Development and Communications at HospiceCare.
Kathy became HospiceCare’s Director of Development in 2002 and transitioned into her current position managing major gifts and planned giving programs in 2009. She is a recognized nonprofit leader in the community, having founded and led Community Food Share for 19 years. Kathy was awarded Boulder Daily Camera’s Pacesetter Award for Community Service in 1991.
