HospiceCare of Boulder and Broomfield Counties is excited to announce a new grief support offering for children and teens — Camp Erin! Camp Erin is a weekend camp designed for kids and teens grieving the loss of someone they love. Offered at no charge, this weekend getaway combines all the fun of a traditional camp with bereavement education and emotional support to help kids cope with grief and loss. Camp Erin also provides campers the opportunity to interact with their peers facing a similar life circumstance in an effort to decrease the sense of isolation that can be felt while grieving.
Camp Erin is for kids ages 6–17 who have experienced the death of someone close to them. It’s being held at Camp Wondervu, just 40 miles west of Denver, from October 1st to 3rd. All activities are overseen by our trained bereavement staff and volunteers who have undergone screening and background checks — plus a camp nurse is always on site.
The camp includes three meals a day, snacks, and a take-home backpack. To learn more about Camp Erin, call Annie Bomberg at 303-604-5330. Space is limited and there may be a wait list.
